Greetings all. I know some of you have probably wondered where the hell I've been (or then again, maybe not) but your darling New York friend is in what is cheerily known as her "busy season". What is a busy season? A busy season for moi is this: the end of the year/spring semester frenzy of faculty and staff cramming all of their events in before the semester ends in late May; it's a weekend race in May, Commencement exercises in the early part of June, which amounts to early and late evening hours, and monumental loads of stress..the vendor doesn't deliver the tent the day I instructed him to do so, his guys take 3 days to set up 4,000 chairs, campus staff are hysterical about everything and nothing, and then the big day comes, and it's all over for just a moment until... 10 graduations for local schools renting our space follow through till the end of the month; urgent calls come in for big deal events for the NYC Mayor's office, and an Assemblyman's office, it's end of the year reports that are due during crunch time, 100's of calls, lots of tension and stress...and that means...I don't post. I can't respond to emails (Witchy, that's for you), I am so exhausted I go to bed at 8 p.m. and am up again at 5:30 and out the door by 6:30. Sooooo, dear ones, don't take it personally that I haven't written. I am just crazed, though it will be over soon!
But life is good, and we are happy and busy. Dream is working his tail off, and I am in this positive and happy and loving place. And I can't wait for my 50th birthday..all the anxiety of recent months about that is gone, and I feel fantastic.
I will write more soon, but now I have to pack for a wedding!
Welcome back Pina....Glad to hear from you at long last. I can imagine the pressure you have been under of late...poor girl
.Tom and I had our first day alone today for the first time in a year...we spent that in the mountains and had a picnic. Wish it could have lasted longer...anyways..look forward to hearing more when you get some time...take care, Leenie
